Pottery camp at Sailing Adrift Studios is a unique opportunity for children ages 8 & up to work in a professional ceramic studio and explore the numerous possibilities clay has to offer!
For three days, students will get a hands-on exploration of ceramic techniques such as - how to throw clay on the potter's wheel, several hand building methods such as pinch pots, coil pots, and slabs work, all while unleashing their imaginations to create wonderful works of art!

Each class will consist of two adult instructors and classes are considered full at six students, 1:3 student to teacher ratio.
Sessions run for 3 days

Sam Stephens
An educator for more than 12 years, Sam brings to her classes a deep love of teaching, learning, and connecting with students. Through her own journey in ceramics, she’s discovered the many humbling benefits of clay, and its great capacity for building community and providing a creative refuge.
Sam’s love for bringing people together and cooking is reflected in her work - beautiful, functional pieces intended to be shared around the table.

Sira Lawless
An artist by nature, Sira has always enjoyed creative expression, but never felt such a strong pull to create again as when she started working with clay.  Sira is dedicated to making functional pottery in beautiful shapes with carving and design that encourage you to view the world outside of its formalities.  She believes life is a pattern of experiences shared with others through a common goal to connect. Creativity brings people together celebrating our beauty and awkward imperfections!  When she’s not in the studio, she finds fun with her teenage boys and inspiration exploring the lake and by land on horseback.
